Additional guidelines for Summer Fellows placed in the JNCASR ONLY.

All summer students should inform the JNCASR well in advance about the exact duration of their visit. The Fellowships section will then request the appropriate authority for accommodation, and let the Fellow know where he/she will be staying.

In special cases where a student needs to visit the Centre for a period in addition to that covered by the Fellowship, the guide may send in a request to this effect. The Centre will try to make their stay possible and fruitful. It is important that such students should inform the Fellowships section about the exact dates of their stay well in advance. Only students who receive an e-mail confirmation of accommodation being reserved for them can expect to be housed by the Centre. The student should carry money required for security deposit.

[bvp_ieee] Important For Publicity Teams

This is an important piece of fact that I came across on net ,that you can not use Gmail for bulk mails , Gmail can Block your account if you do so. The Limit is 500 mails per day! Now that is something that all our publicity teams engage in at the time of all events concerned with the branch so I thought Lets have a discussion on this.

Now I invite all the members to give in their ideas of online publicity that you desire to see in any event ,
All the seniors are also requested here to suggest some new ideas that you may have seen in your respective institutes/companies .

The present Publicity teams are requested to give in their ideas of online publicity.

Subject: IEEE Student Branch JIITU Noida- IEEE Seminar

IEEE STUDENT BRANCH, JIIT, NOIDA is organizing a seminar. Dr. S. L.
Jain, CSIR Emeritus Scientist, National Physical Laboratory, New
Delhi, will talk on Study of Atmospheric Parameters at Maitri,
Antarctica.

DATE:        17th  NOVEMBER 2009

TIME:        5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

VENUE:    LT4

The human activities are altering the concentration of naturally
existing greenhouse gases and addition of greenhouse gases due to
anthropogenic sources, in the atmosphere, which in turn are
responsible for global warning and climate change. The reporting of
ozone depletion in general and ozone hole over Antarctica in
particular witnessed an unprecedented surge of interest in the
monitoring of various trace species and development of various models.
The monitoring of green house gases also has an important role in the
understanding of global change.  In view of the above various state of
art systems have been set up at Maitri, Antarctica for measurements
of  various green house gases, column ozone, water vapor, UV-B
radiation, aerosol optical depth and vertical profiles of ozone which
in turn will go a long way to fill in the gaps and provide valuable
data for modeling studies. The observations, made at high latitude
like Antarctica will also help to understand photochemical,
heterogeneous and dynamical processes that control the distribution of
atmospheric trace gases. In the present presentation the salient
features of the highly sophisticated system such as laser heterodyne,
sun photometer, gas chromatogram, CO analyzer setup for atmospheric
studies at Maitri and the results obtained will be discussed in
detail.

All are cordially invited to attend the seminar.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
Submissions will be accepted only by electronic submission through Microsoft CMT

In addition to the main technical program, the symposium will also include technology quiz and scientific model making contest.

TECHNOLOGY QUIZ
The Quiz session will be modeled on the lines of "How things work" and will be a based on application of science and technology in daily life. Questions will be set keeping in consideration of fresher and sophomore university students in mind.

SCIENTIFIC MODEL MAKING CONTEST
Scientific model making contest is designated to School Students and 1st yr Bachelors students only. The selected students will be encouraged to develop the prototype and file the IP for the designs if it achieves the desired levels of novelty and market potential.

A special track in the contest will be introduced with a separate award on behalf of WIE to encourage school girls to take up engineering as their career.
